CarPlateBook

Terms of use

Last updated 19 October 2026 · version 0.1.0

These terms are between you and ANNMAR LIMITED (company no. 16014219, 111 Bedford Way, Scunthorpe, DN15 8GF), the maker of CarPlateBook. By using the app you agree to them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to the App Store version.

1. What CarPlateBook does

CarPlateBook helps you keep track of your cars (MOT, road tax, insurance and other dates), shows vehicle information from official and industry sources, and lets you check a used car before you buy it.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. Don't copy, resell, scrape, reverse-engineer or use the app or its data to build a competing service or to bulk-check vehicles.

3. Purchases

4. Vehicle data

Information comes from the DVLA, DVSA MOT records and licensed industry sources through our data partner. We show it in good faith but can't guarantee it is complete, current or error-free. See the disclaimer. Always check the V5C logbook, the seller's identity and get an independent inspection before you buy a car.

5. Not advice, not insurance

CarPlateBook gives information, not financial, legal or insurance advice. We do not arrange, sell or recommend insurance. Links to comparison sites may earn us a commission; the decision is always yours.

6. Reminders

Reminders depend on the dates in the app and on your phone's notification settings. You remain responsible for keeping your car taxed, insured and MOT'd.

7. Fair use

To keep prices low, look-ups are limited per day. We may suspend access that looks automated or abusive.

8. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. Otherwise we are not liable for losses caused by inaccurate third-party data, for decisions you make based on the app, or for losses that were not foreseeable. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes and ending

We may update the app and these terms. If a change affects what you paid for, we'll tell you in the app. You can stop using the app at any time.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
